We are very excited to announce that we will be expanding our Walk-In Counselling Clinic services and satellite locations thanks to new funding from the United Way of Greater Simcoe and ongoing support from Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Local People relate life experiences of poverty in new book

 

Stories of thirteen people living in Collingwood, Barrie and Orillia were used to form the basis for the book, Persistent Poverty: Voices from the margins. “Poverty causes poor health – and poor health can lead to poverty. The challenge for many is to overcome a downward cycling of illness and financial loss.” Please visit the Community page for more information about this book, the official launch and how to order your copy.

No money for food – a reality for many in Simcoe County

 

The Put Food in the Budget Campaign began in 2009 as a response to Premier McGuinty’s Poverty Reduction Strategy which has done nothing to address the chronic hunger faced by thousands of people in Ontario every month.
